OCR is currently seeking an Author for the Law A Level for the following unit:

 

H418/03: The nature of law and Human rights

The Author will produce assessment material items that are innovative, engaging and accessible to all candidates. The Profile for this task provides details about the specific activities involved.

 

You will need appropriate subject and assessment expertise within the UK education system, the ability to review material to a specified brief and have a clear understanding of the candidate experience. The ability to use IT systems and applications confidently is essential.

 

Please note, if you are involved in the production of live material you cannot undertake training development or training delivery tasks for OCR.

 

All applicants for the Author role are required to complete an associated exercise (details below).

 

Your brief is to produce a selection of items and mark schemes/answer keys (where relevant) for your preferred area(s) of expertise and item type as applicable. The items and the mark scheme must reflect the level of demand, format and style of the sample assessment material for relevant units/components (It is not necessary to create an entire paper).

 

The range and number of items produced should be sufficient to demonstrate your ability to fulfil the author role being applied for and create assessment materials which are innovative, engaging and accessible to candidates.

 

All items must be:

  • fit for purpose, i.e. valid, reliable, and error free
  • consistent with the requirements of the specification
  • mapped/targeted (as appropriate) to
    • assessment objectives/assessment criteria/learning outcomes
    • level of demand/grades
    • specification content/coverage
  • in line with Equality Act requirements
  • as inclusive as possible, using appropriate language
