OCR is currently seeking Authors for the IT: Data Analytics Cambridge Advanced National for the following units:

 

Non Examined Assessments

F205: Data Visualisation

F206: Data and Digital Marketing

The Author will produce assessment material items that are innovative, engaging and accessible to all candidates. The Profile for this task provides details about the specific activites involved.

 

You will need appropriate subject and assessment expertise within the UK education system, the ability to review material to a specified brief and have a clear understanding of the candidate experience. The ability to use IT systems and applications confidently is essential.

 

Please note, if you are involved in the production of live material you cannot undertake training development or training delivery tasks for OCR.

 

When applying for the Author role you need to complete the NEA task below:

 

NEA task

Your brief is to produce an assignment scenario/case study for your preferred unit. This must reflect the level of demand, format and style of the sample assessment materials for the relevant unit.

The sample assessment material and specification for the new Cambridge Advanced Nationals (teaching from September 2025) are available on the OCR website: https://www.ocr.org.uk/qualifications/alternative-academic-qualifications/

 

The scenario/case study produced should demonstrate your ability to fulfil the author role being applied for and to create a scenario/case study which is appropriate to the style of the sample assessment material.

Your task must be:

  • fit for purpose, i.e. valid, reliable, and error free
  • consistent with the requirements of the new Cambridge Advanced Nationals specification
  • suitable to be assessed using the assessment criteria in the specification
  • inclusive and engaging
  • appropriate and use accessible language
