Please complete both tasks.

Task 1:

The content must include:

1) A component title – for example: ‘Communicating Information and Ideas’

2) A brief overview of what the component would include (no more than a paragraph or top-level outline of its topic areas)

3) One complete Topic Area for this component – for example: Section A Reading

4) Teaching content detailing what needs to be taught for the Topic Area

5)  Breadth and depth for the teaching content.

Task 2:

Produce accompanying assessment materials for your component content from Task 1.

1) Write one multiple choice question targeting AO1, and

2) Write one low tariff question (2, 3 or 4 marks) targeting AO2, and

3) Write one extended question (with a minimum of 8 marks and a maximum of 18 marks) targeting AOs of your choice.

For each question, please provide a corresponding mark scheme.

These are the assessment objectives (AO) for the purpose of this task:

AO1 - Identify and interpret explicit and implicit information and ideas. Select and synthesise evidence from different texts.

AO2 - Explain, comment on and analyse how writers use language and structure to achieve effects and influence readers, using relevant subject terminology to support their views

AO3 - Compare writers’ ideas and perspectives, as well as how these are conveyed, across two or more texts

AO4 - Evaluate texts critically and support this with appropriate textual references.

You can find examples of our Sample Assessment Materials (papers and marks schemes) on the qualification pages of our website www.ocr.org.uk.

The Developer Profile for this role can be reviewed prior to completing your application.

As Developer you will use your experience and creativity to develop and revise high quality teaching and learning resources, sample assessment materials and components for OCR's new qualifications.
