OCR is currently seeking Developers for the redevelopment of GCSE Sciences.

As Developer you will use your experience and creativity to develop and/or revise high quality teaching and learning resources, sample assessment materials and components for OCR's new qualifications.
In order to undertake the role of Developer you will have:
- a degree or equivalent qualification in one of the Sciences or a closely related subject.
- at least 3 academic years of teaching experience
- Qualified Teacher Status
- experience of marking or drafting assessments
- the ability to produce and revise assessment material in a timely manner to a specified brief.
The ability to use IT confidently and effectively is essential to this role.
Developing and revising resources can be carried out at home and remuneration will be set on a task-by-task basis.

Exercise
Draft 4 GCSE science examination questions to assess content from OFQUAL’s subject criteria here.
Your chosen content can be from any science specialism and any content area.
a) You must state the subject content area you have chosen.
b) Design a mixture of questions, including one example of each of the following:
i. A forced / controlled response question (1-2 marks)
ii. An extended constructed response question with a points based mark scheme (2-4 marks)
iii. A short answer question with calculation/working (3-4 marks)
iv. An extended constructed response question with a level of response mark scheme (6 marks), that assesses knowledge of practical science

c) You must provide a detailed mark scheme for each question including:
i. The answer
ii. Any guidance required
iii. The assessment objectives targeted
iv. For the extended constructed response question, provide an explanation of why you chose to write that question, how it targets the AO and how it allows the student to demonstrate the level descriptors for a logically sequenced answer.

The exercise should be completed electronically (preferably on Word) and attached to your application via the Portal. Please use the template provided for the exercise.
