OCR are currently seeking Developers for a brand new Level 1/Level 2 vocational qualification in Food.
Roles available are:
• Externally assessed (EA) unit and sample assessment material (SAM) author
• Externally assessed (EA) unit and sample assessment material (SAM) revisers
• Externally assessed (EA) unit and sample assessment material (SAM) scrutineer
• Non examined assessment (NEA) unit and sample assessment material (SAM) authors
• Non examined assessment (NEA) unit and sample assessment material (SAM) revisers
• Non examined assessment (NEA) unit and sample assessment material (SAM) scrutineers

The Developer Profile for this role should be reviewed prior to completing your application.
As Developer you will use your experience and creativity to develop and/or revise high quality teaching and learning content, sample assessment materials and components for OCR's new qualifications.
In order to undertake the role of Developer you will have:
• a Level 3 (or above) qualification in Food/Nutrition or a closely related subject.
• at least 3 academic years of teaching experience
• Qualified Teacher Status
• experience of marking or drafting assessments
• the ability to produce and revise assessment material in a timely manner to a specified brief.
The ability to use IT confidently and effectively is essential to this role.
Developing and revising tasks can be carried out at home and remuneration will be set on a task-by-task basis.

Externally Assessed (EA) Author Task:
1. For a topic area related to food and nutrition which would be assessed by external assessment, draft some sample teaching content. Possible topic areas could be:
• Food safety
• Healthy eating
• Hygiene
• Nutrition

2. Draft 3 examination questions which assess your sample teaching content. You must draft one example of these question types:
• A forced/controlled response question (1-2 marks)
• An extended constructed response question with a points based mark scheme (2-4 marks)
• An extended constructed response discuss question with a level of response mark scheme (9 marks)
You must provide a detailed mark scheme for each question including:
• The answer
• available marks
• Any guidance required

This task should be completed electronically (preferably in Word) and attached to your application via the Portal. Please use the template provided to complete the task.
Non Examined Assessment (NEA) Author Task:
1. For a practical topic area related to food preparation, which would be assessed by non-examined assessment, draft some sample teaching content.
You should follow the format found in this specification. (This is Creative iMedia teaching content, please use for the format only. Other examples can be found in the specifications of these subjects).
2. Draft a non examined assessment task, with accompanying 3-band marking criteria, which assesses your sample teaching content.
You should follow the format in this sample assessment material. (This is an engineering set assignment, please use for the format only. Other examples can be found by visiting the ‘Assessment’ link of these subjects).
This task should be completed electronically (preferably in Word) and attached to your application via the Portal. Please use the template provided to complete the task.
Reviser and Scrutineer (NEA/EA) Task
1. Complete this Reviser and Scrutineer Task (food reviewer task pdf). All issues found must be identified as comments on this assignment.
